Pressuremeter Testing

At H.H. HolmesTesting we offer pressuremeter testing as one of the comprehensive tests to reveal the subsurface conditions of soil and rock where you intend to build. Pressuremeter testing services can help determine site soil characteristics and in-situ strength with a down-hole analysis of soil stratification. This analysis aids in determining bearing capacity on-site before the removal of samples to the lab. This in-situ analysis may yield higher values for soil strengths and thereby reduce foundation design and the overall cost of your project.

Our drilling technicians with the assistance of our engineering staff utilize the Menard Model G type pressuremeter system to evaluate the in-situ stress-strain relationship of the bearing soils at your site. Additional work can be done in the lab and comprehensive reports are prepared by our soils engineer for use by your foundation contractor.
