Soil Testing for Construction

H.H. Holmes Testing Laboratories provides soil analysis services for construction to test for moisture content, stability and strength. We perform foundation soils inspections, proof roll stability inspections and nuclear density (compaction) testing of engineered fill soils. Our certified field technicians are trained to identify unsuitable soils and other conditions that will hinder construction. All are trained adhere to stringent industry, government and ASTM standards.

Our customer base includes architects, engineers, developers, contractors, government agencies and consultants. Our expertise has been applied to a great variety of projects: mass earth, high-rise buildings, roads and bridges, mass transit, wind farms, airports, subdivisions, military base structures including housing, etc.

We offer drilling and soil testing for construction overseen and reported on by professional engineers. We define soil properties and identify conditions that may not be suitable for structural purposes and make recommendations to compensate for problems with the soil.

During mass earth we provide compaction inspections as required and then will do footing inspections prior to placement of foundations. At every step, soil inspections ensure that conditions on your site meet project specifications.
